Greetings to you,
We call your attention to three new items on the RCA website:
First, a new online survey on church-based outreach ministries. We believe people and congregations would benefit from a comprehensive resource booklet of the mercy and justice ministries being done by RCA congregations. This survey is designed to collect the information needed to build that resource booklet.
The second document is the final report on the RCA's online discussion on race and racism. We encourage you to keep raising your awareness of the ways in which people different from you, regardless of your race, feel welcomed and validated when around you or your congregation.
Third is a request for social justice proposals. The Social Justice Stimulus Team has a modest mini-grant program. We invite you to apply for one of our limited number of social justice advocacy mini-grants, which are offered in amounts up to $2,000. This Word document with additional information and an application can be found under 'Notes from the Social Justice Coordinator' on the Social Justice homepage.
This is an invitation to participate in the latest survey RCA church-based outreach ministry survey relating to multiracial ministries & social justice now on RCA’s website www.rca.org. As RCA churches make every effort to be inclusive and meet the needs of our people, several churches are engaged in social advocacy programs that significantly impact and enhance the lives of their communities. This survey will provide information for a comprehensive resource booklet that will 1) share information on the various ministries in which the churches are involved; 2) Create a tool to allow members to learn about outreach ministries from each other; 3) provide information for planning for conferences, studying best practices, etc. We encourage you to click on the link and answer the questions that apply to your church’s ministry before the survey closes on August 25, 2008. RCA church-based outreach ministry survey We will inform you of the results within four weeks after that date.
Blessings to you.
